Llagar Castañon

Llagar Castañón is located in Quintueles (Villaviciosa) and keeps alive the family tradition since its foundation by Alfredo García Menéndez in 1938. Currently, the third generation, led by Julián Castañón and his son Alfonso Castañón, is in charge of preserving quality and seeking new business opportunities with innovative products such as Roxmut cider vermouth, Xiz Frizzante and La Bonagua ice cider.

Asturian cider is an alcoholic beverage fermented from apples, deeply rooted in Asturian culture. Its production dates back centuries and is a symbol of the region’s gastronomy. The cider tradition includes the “escanciado”, an art of serving it from a certain height to oxygenate it and enhance its flavor.
