The Landschaftspflegeverband Main-Kinzig-Kreis e.V. (LPV) was founded in 1992 with the aim of preserving a species-rich cultural landscape. It is a voluntary association of agriculture, local politics and nature conservation.
The main focus of the association’s activities is the maintenance and preservation of meadow orchards and species-rich grassland as well as conservation measures for selected animal and plant species in the Main-Kinzig district.
Together with many partners, such as the Main-Kinzig district, the towns and municipalities, the nature conservation associations and the district farmers’ association, innovative solutions are developed to counter current problems such as species extinction or the climate crisis.
The LPV team consists of 12 motivated colleagues who have their offices in the LPV office in Burgjoss and in the district administration of the Mai-Kinzig-Kreis in Gelnhausen.
Since 2021, the managing director of the LPV has been Matthias Metzger, a qualified forest engineer.
