OGV Altenhain im Taunus e.V.

Stand E21

Hesse - Germany

The Altenhain im Taunus fruit and gardening association was founded in 1930.
After the association was on the verge of being dissolved in 2019, a new board was formed thanks to the commitment of young people and some of the previous board members. Since then, the number of members has grown steadily – in 2024, the association had over 200 members.
In addition to growing vegetables, the main focus is on preserving the surrounding orchards.
The OGV Altenhain cultivates around 2.5 hectares of orchards with around 150 trees. The home-pressed cider is mainly served at the association’s own events such as the Easter bonfire or the harvest festival. In 2024, hot cider was also offered for the first time, which was very popular at the Christmas market and at St Martin’s Day.
In 2025, the range is to be expanded to include a Mirabelle plum brandy.
