Pomologenverein

The Pomologen-Verein e.V. is dedicated to the preservation of old fruit varieties. Old fruit varieties offer a wide variety of flavours, and old apple and pear varieties in particular are very healthy thanks to their high polyphenol content and are better tolerated by many people than modern varieties. They are the basis for characterful drinks and products. They are also an integral part of the Hessian cider culture, which is listed as an intangible cultural asset on the UNESCO list for Germany.

The Pomologen-Verein provides information about its activities and exhibits old, typical Hessian apple varieties in a variety show.
