Paolo Spagnolo

Paolo Spagnolo has been the managing director and curator of the Swiss Cider and Distillery Museum in Arbon on Lake Constance, right in the heart of Switzerland’s apple-growing paradise, since 2018. The museum is dedicated to both the history and present-day world of apple wine and cider, as well as the traditional production of fruit brandies, and thus forms the basis of his professional work.

He has over 20 years’ experience in marketing and sales roles within the drinks industry and is a qualified Swiss spirits sommelier with WSET Level 3 in Spirits. He also works as a freelance journalist for Bar News magazine in Switzerland.

Paolo Spagnolo is regarded as an enthusiast for high-proof spirits and artisanal cider, and as a connoisseur of fine flavours. He is actively committed to the further development of the cider category and a responsible drinking culture, including as the initiator and organiser of the Swiss Cider Summit and the Cider Festival at the Markthalle Basel. He has been a regular visitor to Cider World since 2018.
